The main aim of the current study is to investigate gender representation in the Moroccan 9th grade EFL textbooks officially approved and used in public junior high schools from a sociolinguistic perspective. To attain this aim, the present study draws on Porecca's 1984 criteria. Mixed-methods research that combines both quantitative and qualitative data analysis is adopted .
