Description
Yaounde, the political and administrative capital of Cameroon, has experienced unprecedented population and urban growth in recent decades. The characteristics of this growth-which, while not stopping, has nonetheless slowed since 1990-are its continuity and acceleration. The dramatic population pressure has naturally subjected the natural reserves of the city's high peaks to intense human activities that degrade the environment.
