"The Courtship of Miles Standish and Minor Poems" is a celebrated collection of verse by one of America's most beloved poets, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The centerpiece, "The Courtship of Miles Standish," is a narrative poem set in the early days of the Plymouth Colony. It follows the legendary romantic entanglement between the military leader Miles Standish, the shy messenger John Alden, and the steadfast Priscilla Mullens.
