Homesteading on the Peace River takes the reader along on the adventure of a lifetime. Two young friends from a Minnesota farming community hop trains and hitchhike to northern Alberta in 1929, chasing a dream to claim a homestead in the wilderness. Facing extremely cold winters, the two build a cabin in the bush, making friends along the way with similarly hardy settlers from all over the world.
