Facsimile of the memorial souvenir to the British Battalion XV International Brigade, in the Spanish Civil War, including a Roll of Honour. After the Civil War was eventually won by the Nationalists, the International Brigades were initially on the 'wrong side' of history. However, with WW2 the 'brigadistas' gained prestige as the first guard of democracy, as having foreseen the danger of fascism and gone to fight it.
