One of the best in the significant literature critiquing social mores in the Edwardian era. It focuses on two couples and their complex sexual dynamics, suppressed, and shaped by the moral standards of the era. It notably provides one of the best early uses of a non-chronological narrative heavily encompassing flashbacks. This dynamic would be abused in the future, but here is executed cleanly and dynamically.
