This Book explains Waqf as "Sadaqah Jariyah" or "continuous Sadaqah". The Waqf is created by giving away an asset, which has eternal value of ample benefit(s) to its giver. The Sadaqah, is, however, religious. It involves establishing a Mosque, or providing basic necessities and/or welfare to people such as building a house for the wayfarer, especially during one's lifetime so that he/she will get the reward for his/her own good deed after death.
